I’m going to heading up to Hi-Ex this year. Like most people, I missed out the first two conventions as we were snowed in. This time, I’m definitely going to be there. I booked my coach ticket but not my ticket into the con. (note: to self - get onto it!). As you may know, I have [...] Finally, we did it. We managed to produce a tribute comic dedicated to Scream!. Malcolm Kirk collated all of the artwork and put them together. It was then uploaded to eBook, ClickWheel and to the Ning group as a PDF file. Barely a few days went past, we are already talking about producing issue 2! Hopefully, in [...] I’m going to be researching for 2 science fiction scripts; one for a murder/mystery and the other for my futuristic law enforcement. The murder/mystery one will be a five paged script. I have a rough idea how it will play out. It will set in the present day. The futuristic law enforcement will be a lot longer. [...] I have a couple of stories on the back burner. There is one which I am inspired by “Sleeper”, a mini series written by Ed Brubaker and drawn by Sean Phillips. My script will be based in the far future, it might involve some law enforcement combined with a science fiction element. Actually, I thought of [...] I wrote a script called Knock Knock and John Cahill drew it. It is published in Something Wicked #5. Hope you enjoy it. John Cahill also makes a second contribution to the same issue; Bad Static (written by Martin Hayes). Unfortunately, there are some problems with FutureQuake Press website and you cannot purchase any of the issues [...] I am going to write a blog post at least once a month about my progress with script or story writing. For the past few years, I have been writing horror comic scripts. I am now branching into crime. I wrote a single crime script but plan to write some more.I’m not giving up horror and [...] At the weekend, I discovered my work commitments would prevent me from attending Hi-Ex 2009. Shame. Next year, I’ll be there. I wish Rich and Vicky all the best with their comic con. They have a large set of auction items whose proceeds will go to charity, Children 1st. it is an amazing set of items up for [...] Recently, FutureQuakePress turned down a script of mine. They felt it didn’t do anything for them and that it read like a action movie and it would be difficult to work it out artistically. They also felt it was half finished. Yeah, I was disappointed but they did have a point. It was half finished. I [...] I had a good time in Birmingham, although I did feel a wee bit alone. I was due to meet up with an old friend but he had other commitments. I stayed at the Britannia Hotel. It was ok. My view from the window was rubbish. I could see a hotel room across my window. So [...] Now I have been to Birmingham International Comics Show, I might be heading off to Hi-Ex 2009! Well, not until February 14th. The other day, I mentioned that I loved the art of All Star Superman which was drawn by Frank Quitely. And he is making an appearance at Hi-Ex 2009. I must get my GN [...] |
