I have not been writing for a long while and the characters from my storylines are niggling at me.
They keep repeating their lines or scenes over and over again. However, they’ll go away if I write them down. Yes, it’s bizarre, I know. (Yes, I am sane, I assure you). From the age of 9, I knew I always wanted to be an author after reading a lot comics and books.
This weekend, I’m going to start work on a serial killer story. It may have some black humour but nothing outrageous like ‘Beaten Path’. This serial killer story is more of a psychological horror, not out and out gore. And it will have a sting in the tail. I’m figuring out whether I want to write it as graphic novel or a straightforward novel.
That’s the question I was asking myself the other day. If ‘Beaten Path’ takes off, would I be interested going any further as a comic book writer? Yes, I would be, but would any publisher accept any of my works? We’ll see what happens. After all, this is my first venture and it is (very) early days.
