I am mad as hell at myself for overlooking a gem of a superhero comic book. And that is All Star Superman. Bear in mind, I do not read superheroes comic books at all especially Superman. If I do, it’s once in a blue moon. I recall picking up a free comic of All Star Superman on Free Comics day. I read it and thought it was great. I was distracted and forgot about it. Until last week, it arrived in Graphic Novel format.
I am blown away by the teamwork on this book. I was reading the first page before turning over to see Superman flying. It was beautiful; the artwork and story. I do get dreams where I fly over buildings so that’s why this page appealed to me.
The story is great and I love Grant Morrision’s take on Superman. I’m on issue 11 now. Those guys did something to me that I never thought it was possible. I’m going to read more superheroes comics.
And I am still mad as hell at myself for overlooking it.
